We hosted our 9th Annual Volunteer Work Day at Fairyland in Oakland, CA March 14-16, 2014!
Work took place at on Saturday, March 15th, with prep work on Friday, March 14th. We did a few removals as well as safety pruning throughout. We had free reign to work within the park grounds from 7am to 10am, after that we shared the grounds with park visitors. Our previous workday at this location went smoothly and we replicated it well!
We reserved a group camp site (20+ tent spaces) at Chabot Regional Park’s Puma Point. Folks came for the weekend and enjoyed the campgrounds on Sunday! RV spaces were also available. For those who weren’t fans of camping, we also suggested volunteers stay at the Clarion Hotel Downtown or Courtyard Oakland Downtown.
Families had full access to Fairyland amenities on Saturday. Andy Trotter also hosted a BBQ on Saturday night!
